What the rate includes
The vehicle shown or, failing that, a similar model, its maintenance and unlimited third-party insurance. 125 km a day are included; beyond that, each kilometre is charged at the rate of the range.
125 km a day included
Damage and excess
Damage is covered with an excess equal to the market value of the vehicle. A daily fee reduces it in part: an amount then remains payable, depending on the category and on whether the other party is identified (see the table).
Driver and passengers
A guarantee of 5,000 FCFA a day covers the driver and the passengers, within the limit our insurance company grants us.
Fuel
Fuel is not included. The vehicle is handed over with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank of petrol or diesel.
Licence and age
A driving licence held for more than two years and a minimum age of 24. Any licence from the country of residence is valid in Senegal. The driver must be named on the rental contract: otherwise the insurance does not apply in the event of an accident.
Deposit and payment
For any rental without a chauffeur, a deposit is compulsory: it depends on the vehicle category and the amount of excess bought back. Payment for services is always made in advance.
Roads and tracks
Only 4x4s may drive on tracks and unpaved roads, excluding beach edges and sand dunes. No insurance covers a passenger car off paved roads, or a 4x4 in prohibited areas. Wheels and tyres are never covered.
Taxes and currency
Prices are in FCFA, excluding tax: 18% VAT applies to every price in the tariff. A 1% stamp duty is added for cash payments of 100,000 FCFA or more. Reference rate: 1 euro = 655.957 FCFA.
Excess buy-back
The daily fee reduces the excess, but an amount remains payable by you in the event of an accident or theft. It depends on the vehicle category, shown by the letter of its model, and on whether the other party is identified.
